Aragorn son of Arathorn by MyrddinDerwydd Aragorn son of Arathorn by MyrddinDerwydd
Typeset and printed by hand in the Dartmouth College letterpress studio 2005. Original work is from The Hobbit. and belongs to J. R. R. Tolkien.

I wish that I could recall what font I used on this, because it was difficult as heck. It's an old European font that lent itself very well to the poem, but as such it has a 13pt character height instead of the standard (US) 12 or 14. It was well worth the effort though.

Excellent! This is Jessen Schrift of Rudolf Koch I believe. Great taste in design and fonts...

Awsome. I remember this poem from both the movie and the books. Do you know what the actual name of it is?

:-) I've never seen another name for it other than "Aragorn son of Arathorn," and there isn't much information beyond that it was written by Bilbo for Aragorn.

Ah, okay. I've been meaning to find that out. I also didn't know (or maybe forgot is a better term) that Bilbo wrote it.

I feel like I ought to validate my claim a bit - and I was right on :target:!
It appears first in Gandalf's Letter to Frodo & Co., then again (with revelation of it's true author) at the Council of Elrond.
